Photograph of SAC Kevin FryslieGreetings and welcome to the FBI's Alaska web site. As the Special Agent in Charge, I am very pleased to be able to present you with information about our investigative responsibilities and priorities; community outreach initiatives; and employment opportunities in the FBI. I would also like to provide you with our E-Mail address for reporting Federal violations that fall within our investigative jurisdiction. The confidentiality of the information provided will be strictly maintained. The address is available on the "How to Contact Us" page. A list of our investigative priorities can be found at the "FBI Priorities" page.

The Anchorage Division of the FBI has Federal investigative responsibilities that cover the entire state of Alaska, all 586,000 square miles. The Division is currently comprised of over seventy Special Agents, Task Force Officers,  and Professional Support Employees. We have two Resident Agencies (RA), one in Fairbanks and one in Juneau Alaska, with a total of five agents assigned to the RAs.

Our facility currently houses the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) which is responsible for coordinating and addressing investigative matters relating to terrorist activities in the State of Alaska. The JTTF is composed of numerous local, state, and federal agencies to include, but not limited to: the Anchorage Police Department, the Alaska State Police, the U.S. Marshal Service, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the U.S. Customs Service, the U.S. Attorney's Office, and the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

In addition, we house the Safe Streets Task Force (SSTF) which targets gangs involved in violent crimes, drug trafficking, and other crimes.  The SSTF is comprised of FBI Agents and Anchorage Police Department officers.

The Alaska State Troopers' Statewide Law Enforcement Information Center (SLEIC) is also housed in our Anchorage office and is staffed with personnel from the Alaska State Troopers and the National Guard. This center collects, analyzes, and disseminates intelligence gathered by law enforcement to municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies throughout Alaska.

The Anchorage Division has sent many Alaskan law enforcement officers to attend the FBI National Academy located at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. The National Academy is a ten week course designed to enhance executive management skills in current law enforcement and police management issues. Additionally, the Anchorage Division has provided extensive law enforcement training to state and local law enforcement agencies over the years, such as forfeiture investigations, hate crime investigations and crisis management.

An overview of some of our local inititiatives can be found on this web site. I hope you will take advantage of this web site to answer your questions about how we combat crime and provide cooperative assistance to the law enforcement community in Alaska.
